AFCON, COSAFA Teams play out draw in trial game #Uganda

Uganda Cranes teams preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations and COSAFA Championship were on Thursday evening involved in a friendly.

The trial game played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole ended in a one-all draw.

Allan Kayiwa gave the COSAFA bound team into a deserved lead. The in-form Tooro United forward headed in Mustafa Kiiza’s corner in the 25th minute.

Abdullah Mubiru’s team was comfortable with the ball and enjoyed much of the possession particularly in the first half but were wasteful at in attack.

Paul Mucureezi’s set up Michael Birungi but the Express winger fired wide while Nicholas Kasozi shot direct at Charles Lukwago as the COSAFA bound dominated the national side.

Patrick Kaddu found the equaliser for Sebastien Desabre’s side twenty-two minutes into the second half. KCCA midfielder Allan Kyambadde set up the clubmate to beat U17 goalkeeper Jack Komakech who had replaced Saidi Keni.

Allan Okello and Kyambadde also close for the mainstream national side.
